ASHIATSU BAR THERAPY
Ashiatsu Bar Therapy is an ancient form of barefoot massage which originated in Asia. It is performed on a massage table with the therapist using their bare feet to perform the massage. The term 'Ashi' means foot, and the term 'Atsu' means pressure. During Ashiatsu the therapist applies deep relaxing strokes with the feet to the entire body of the client. Ashiatsu is a compression technique and is especially rewarding to people who engage in sports or who lead a stressful life.
Ashiatsu is not for everyone. It is not recommended for the elderly, children, pregnant women, or people with acute cases of diabetes or osteoporosis. It is suggested that clients discuss their medical history with the therapist as to the suitability of this procedure for them.
